- Hazard = a potential sourse of harm or adverse health effect on a person
- Risk = the likelihood that someone might suffer harm or an adverse health effect from a hazard
You will need to be able to give a few examples of hazards and risks, as well as what you could do to minimise them. eg:
Uneven or slippery ground to lead to people falling over → put down mats or other covering Ponds which people could fall in, or drop electrical equipment in → fence off the pond or cover it Hitting underground cables when digging → get a map of where the cables are before starting work and avoid them High level telegraph wires getting caught on diggers and other machinery → plan how you are going to bring these on to site and where you can use them
Basically, the hazards and risks part of the paper can be quite variable, so it is difficult to learn anything specific other than the definitions. But it also seems to be quite a common sense area, so I think you could give any example as long as it seems reasonable.
