Spots on the Butterwort….

I had moved the two carnivorous Butterworts I obtained to control fungus gnats outside because the weather has been warmer. They also had not been catching so much dinner since I had moved my other plants outside and I felt that they needed a good feed. They had both been looking really lovely and yellow, like, well, butter.

I got a terrible shock this morning when I looked at them and saw this:

I thought I’d managed to somehow expose them to a terrible disease and was googling it in a bit of a panic.

Until the penny dropped.

My neighbour spray painted the fence grey yesterday.

The paint has gone everywhere. Splashes all over my house and on my edibles too.

Paint-flecked tomatoes. Will these be edible now?

The worst affected are the Butterworts though – I don’t know if they will survive because I know their leaves are sensitive and needed to digest their food. I don’t know what to do. Any ideas?
